Malnutrition in India

Efforts to Address Malnutrition
Mid-Day Meal Scheme
Free school lunches have been made available to all government school students across India. The meals include basic but nutritious components.
ICDS
The Integrated Child Development Services Scheme provides a package of services for pregnant and lactating women as well as children under 6 years with an aim to prevent malnutrition.
Poshan Abhiyaan
The National Nutrition Mission aims to reduce malnutrition through community mobilization, capacity building of frontline workers, and creating awareness about a balanced diet and use of government services.
